Marjorie Sloan is heading for the mayor’s seat in Golden. At press time, she led Wayne Weber with 69.6 percent of the vote to 30.4 percent. Sloan, a former District 1 council member, would succeed Jacob Smith.
“It’s really exciting,” Sloan said. “I’ve been on City Council for a while, but this is a big change.”
Sloan’s council seat is up for grabs, and Saoirse Charis-Graves had the lead, with 55.2 percent of the vote, over Richard Feltes. The District 2 seat, vacated by Karen Oxman, had Marcie Miller in the lead, with 61.9 percent of the vote, over Steven Gallant.
