BOULDER, Colo.—The son of a disbarred Lafayette lawyer charged with fleeing to Mexico to avoid sex-assault charges has pleaded guilty to trying to help his father escape from the Boulder County jail.

The Daily Camera reports ( ) 19-year-old Andre Glenn Rogers pleaded guilty Tuesday to aiding an escape attempt and received a two-year deferred sentence. The charge disappears from his record if he completes probation and stays out of trouble.

He was accused of trying to pass a bobby pin to his father, Duane Rogers, through another inmate.

Duane Rogers missed a trial scheduled in 2009 on sexual assault charges and was later found in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The trial on sex-assault charges now is scheduled for December, along with an arraignment on escape charges.
