Two things can be credited for the success Maureen Shul had in staging her first Wings of Hope Gala. First, a growing number of people want to do what they can to raise research dollars for scientists seeking a cure for pancreatic cancer. Second, the featured speaker was Shul’s brother, Brian, who was shot down and left for dead while he was a fighter pilot in Vietnam. Brian’s story didn’t end in the jungle, though.
