GOLDEN, Colo.—A man found not guilty by reason of insanity in a Colorado school shooting is set to be sentenced on a weapons conviction.
Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood is scheduled to be in court in Golden on Thursday to learn his punishment.
Eastwood was convicted of possessing a weapon on school grounds following a February 2010 attack at Deer Creek Middle School. It recalled memories of the 1999 shootings at nearby Columbine High School.
Eastwood was armed with a rifle and managed to wound two eighth graders before being tackled and held by two teachers.
Eastwood was found not guilty of attempted first-degree murder last month.
The weapons conviction carries a sentence of up to 1 1/2 years in prison. His lawyers have said they plan to appeal the conviction.
