A man allegedly passing a truck in a no-passing zone struck a car head-on, killing himself and the other driver Saturday night on Weld County Road 49, the Colorado State Patrol reported.
The driver of a Subara was heading south on 49 near County Road 40 south of Kersey when he crossed double yellow lines on a hill and collided with a Mercury sedan, Trooper Nate Reid. One of the vehicles then spun into the Chevy pickup, whose driver suffered minor injuries.
Two male passengers in the Subaru and the driver of the Chevy were taken — one by helicopter and two by ambulance — to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
