BOULDER, Colo.—Police say a Boulder scam ring targeted illegal immigrants who were charged $1,000 and promised a driver’s license.
Police issued warrants Friday for 23-year-old Ivan Francisco Sevilla-Morales and 25-year-old Enrique Pinzon-Garcia. A third person accused of taking part in the scam—19-year-old Jocelyn Vega-Arambula—was arrested in May on suspicion of theft, conspiracy and impersonating a public servant.
The Daily Camera reports that police say the scammers approached immigrants and promised licenses they never produced ( ).
One of the victims called police to report the scam. At least 15 alleged victims have been identified.
The Denver Post reports that Boulder police do not plan to press charges against the alleged victims and encouraged any others to come forward ().
