NEW YORK — Ndamukong Suh will get his appeals hearing right away.

Today, Suh will present to Art Shell his appeal of his two-game suspension for stomping Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. The league handed out the suspension Tuesday, but Suh immediately appealed.

Shell is a joint appointee of the NFL and the players’ association for such cases.

A person familiar with the process told The Associated Press on Wednesday about the hearing, which will be held by conference call.

Suh stomped on Dietrich- Smith during Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day loss to the Packers and was ejected. Should he lose the appeal, he will miss Sunday’s game at New Orleans and the Lions’ Dec. 11 home game against Minnesota.

Rams’ Bradford practices

ST. LOUIS — Rams quarterback Sam Bradford was limited in practice after aggravating a high left ankle sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo said Bradford probably took half of the snaps in practice as a precaution. The quarterback said the ankle was sore but otherwise he felt pretty good.

Marshall has cab-fare run-in

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A report by the Broward Sheriff’s Office says Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall was briefly handcuffed and detained while deputies investigated a misunderstanding about a $142 cab fare.

Marshall eventually paid the fare and was released without being charged.

The incident, first reported by the South Florida Times, occurred early Nov. 14, barely 12 hours after a Dolphins home victory over Washington, when a taxi driver summoned deputies shortly before 7 a.m.

Footnotes.

Jaguars interim coach Mel Tucker shook up his staff on his first full day, firing receivers coach Johnny Cox and shuffling other assignments.

Tucker also moved quarterbacks coach Mike Sheppard to work with receivers, a position he held the previous four years in Cincinnati.

Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter will serve as quarterbacks coach.

• Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb went through a full workout, the strongest indication yet that he finally is ready to return to Arizona’s lineup.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt tempered his optimism, though, waiting to see how Kolb’s injured foot responds today.

• Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman is day-to-day after injuring his shoulder in a loss to the Titans on Sunday.

• The Chargers have placed offensive tackle Marcus McNeill on season-ending injured reserve with a neck injury and signed tackle Jared Gaither off waivers.
