COLORADO SPRINGS — A man was shot and killed Friday night in a parking lot on Chelton Road just north of Fountain Boulevard, a death that almost certainly will be ruled the city’s 29th homicide.
Chelton Road is closed from Fountain north to Landmark Lane while police investigate the 7:45 p.m. shooting.
“Unfortunately, it’s a record-breaker,” said Colorado Springs police Lt. Howard Black. “It’s just unbelievable.”
Black said the victim, in his 20s, was shot in the parking lot and died at the hospital.
