CENTENNIAL, Colo.—The bond for a former Colorado sheriff accused of exchanging methamphetamine for sex has been lowered to $50,000.
Sixty-year-old Patrick Sullivan has been held on $500,000 bond in the jail named after him in suburban Denver. Sullivan appeared in court on Monday and a judge lowered his bond, citing his clean record.
Sullivan is charged with felony distribution, possession of meth as well as a misdemeanor charge of soliciting prostitution.
Authorities said he offered methamphetamine to a man in exchange for sex in a sting set up last week by a drug task force.
Sullivan appeared in court using a cane and wearing handcuffs connected to a chain around his waist.
A judge will decide whether there’s enough evidence to proceed to a trial at a hearing on Jan. 31.
