A fourth suspect was arrested in a drug-deal-gone-bad case in which a man received a gunshot wound to the buttocks.
The incident unfolded March 29, 2010, in a home in the Horsetooth Reservoir area west of Fort Collins, according to a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office media release.
An investigation began when a 19-year-old showed up at the Poudre Valley Hospital with a gunshot wound “to the left buttocks and lower abdomen,” the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators determined that four men from the Denver area had gone to the Horsetooth area home on the pretense of buying a pound of marijuana, but with intent to steal it.
“During the drug deal, one of the Denver area men grabbed the marijuana and attempted to leave the residence,” the sheriff’s office said. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot by one of the Denver men.
Gordon Rae Reed, 21, of Aurora, was arrested Monday, on suspicion of aggravated robbery, as the final suspect in the case, the sheriff’s office said.
The three other suspects arrested earlier are Erick Lamar Williams Berrien Jr., 20, of Parker; Brandon McClendon, 21, of Denver; Connor Meek, 20, of Englewood.
The trio previously arrested in the ongoing case face multiple charges. McClendon’s charges include attempted 1st degree murder.
