A woman was taken to a hospital tonight because of smoke inhalation after she escaped a fire at 1302 Verbena Street in East Denver.
Investigators aren’t sure yet what caused the fire, which was contained to one room in the home, said Lt. Phil Champagne of the Denver Fire Department.
The woman did not give firefighters any indication of how the blaze might have started before she was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, he said.
The fire was reported at about 8:30 p.m.
