Two adults and five young children were rushed to three different hospitals this morning after a minivan rolled off Interstate 25 near Fort Collins, authorities say.
A 3-year-old girl, who is in serious condition, was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, said Trooper Nate Reid, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
“She’s in more serious condition than the rest,” Reid said.
One adult is also in serious condition and the other five are all in moderate condition, he said.
A silver 2001 Honda Odyssey minivan was southbound in the far left lane on I-25 a few miles north of Fort Collins when the driver lost control of the van about 8:17 a.m.
The car rolled off the right side of the highway, Reid said.
Jennifer Lamblin, 30, of Cheyenne was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the van. She was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland with serious injuries.
Four other children were taken to the same hospital including the 3-year-old child who was in a booster seat at the time of the accident. An adult male and an 8-year-old girl were rushed to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins.
A girl and boy, both 2, who had been improperly restrained in child seats, and a 4-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl, both in booster seats, all had moderate injuries, Reid said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
