AURORA, Colo.—A man sought by police after a crash that killed a pedestrian in Aurora has turned himself in.
Forty-year-old Franck Armand Belibi of Centennial was being held Friday on suspicion of careless driving resulting in death and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Bond was set at $10,000.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at East Mississippi Avenue and South Havana Street.
Investigators say a man was trying to cross Havana Street and was standing in a painted median area when he was struck by an SUV. The pedestrian was thrown into a southbound lane where he was hit and then dragged by a second vehicle. A witness stopped the second vehicle, but the SUV left the scene.
Police say Belibi was driving the SUV.
