Spotlight on Scott Hartnell: One of the more unique-looking players in the NHL, with hair of that from a rock band, Hartnell plays a rock ‘n’ roll brand of hockey too — he’s always involved in the play, one way or another.
NOTEBOOK
Avalanche: The Avs took Sunday off. Several players attended the Patriots-Broncos game at Sports Authority Field. … The condition of several injured players, including David Jones (groin), Semyon Varlamov (back) and Kyle Quincey (groin), will be updated today. Ryan Wilson and Peter Mueller (concussions) remain on injured reserve.
Flyers: Philadelphia, which had a seven-game winning streak snapped Saturday by Boston, has four players sidelined because of concussions — Chris Pronger, Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier. Pronger, a former Norris Trophy-winning defenseman, is out for the season. Giroux was leading the NHL in scoring at the time of his concussion last week. He was kneed in the back of the head by teammate Wayne Simmonds.
