Colorado Attorney General John Suthers says he has appointed David Blake as the deputy attorney general for legal policy and government affairs.
Blake will be responsible for working with state lawmakers and other state officials on issues of interest to the Office of the Attorney General. He also will handle issues that arise under the Colorado Hospital Transfer Act as well as other cases and legal issues as needed.
Blake has worked as assistant solicitor general for the Colorado Department of Law since September 2010. Prior to that, Blake served in a variety of roles with the U.S. Attorney General’s Office between 1996 and 2010.
Blake is a 2007 graduate of the George Mason University School of Law and a 1996 graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He replaces former deputy attorney general Geoff Blue, who left the Office of the Attorney General for the private sector.
