DENVER—Two men have been charged in the shooting death of a teacher in Denver.
Twenty-seven-year-old Ryan Miller was charged with first-degree murder on Friday. He’s accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Roan, in the head as she drove away from her home Dec. 16.
A 27-year-old man accused of driving Miller to and from the area has been charged with being an accessory. Richard Leavitt is also accused of helping hide the murder weapon.
After she was shot, Roan’s car crashed into a garage. She had recently ended a brief relationship with Miller, and a judge had ordered Miller not to contact her.
She was a first-year teacher at a school in Commerce City.
Miller was being held in the Denver jail and it wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.
