Colorado Springs police arrested a former Little Caesars Pizza employee after he allegedly returned to the store Wednesday night, wielding a knife and demanding money.
Around 6:26 p.m., a man reportedly was fighting with people and threatening them with a knife at an apartment complex in the 1200 block of South Chelton Road, according to a the Colorado Springs Police Department’s blotter.
Later that evening, around 7:50 p.m., police received numerous phone calls from employees at Little Caesars Pizza, located at 1877 S. Academy Blvd. They reported that the man was knocking over racks and pans, waving a knife and threatening an employee if they did not open the register.
The suspect fled the store without any money.
No one was injured.
Officers used a police dog to track the suspect, who was arrested and identified as Phinehas McNeal.
Police confirmed that McNeal was the same man who was threatening people at the apartment complex earlier Wednesday night.
McNeal tried to fight officers as he was escorted to a cell at the Criminal Justice Center. He faces charges of attempted aggravated robbery, felony menacing, misdemeanor menacing, criminal mischief and obstructing a police officer.
