A lost cat from Florida got a glimpse at a winter wonderland this holiday season, but if all goes as planned he’ll be back in the sunshine by New Year’s.
Waylon, a 1-year-old orange and white tabby cat, was found wandering around a Littleton neighborhood on Dec. 21, according to the Foothills Animal Shelter.
Details about how Waylon traveled from Florida to Colorado remain a mystery.
When Waylon was scanned, a microchip implanted under his fur traced back to his owner, Daniel Johns.
Johns, who lives near Naples, Fla., adopted Waylon in August. But less than 30 minutes after Johns brought Waylon home, he found his way out of his house through a dryer vent.
Johns has not seen Waylon since, and assumed that he was gone forever. Today, Johns is booking a flight to Denver to claim Waylon.
