WELLINGTON, New Zealand — A strong earthquake rattled the New Zealand city of Christ church today. There were no immediate reports of serious injuries or widespread damage, but residents’ nerves were rattled. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 5.8-magnitude quake struck 16 miles north of Christchurch at a depth of 2.5 miles. A strong quake that jolted Christchurch in February killed 182 people and destroyed much of the downtown area.
