Three liquor stores were held up within an hour of each other last night in Colorado Springs by a robber, or robbers, armed with a shotgun.
A fourth store was hit by an armed robber earlier in the evening, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
The first robbery happened at about 6:35 p.m. at Oddones Liquor Store, 441 N. Union Blvd., police said.
The robber, armed with a “large gun” fled with cash. He was wearing a black ski mask, a black zip hooded sweatshirt and a black stocking cap with a logo on front. The man was about 6-feet fall with a medium build. The robber fled in a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi, police said.
The next armed robbery happened at about 9 p.m. at Bob’s Liquor, 3519 N. El Paso St., police said.
The robber pointed a shotgun and after getting cash he forced victims to the back of the store and fled.
At about 9:24 p.m., Quart House Liquors, 2738 Palmer Park Blvd., was robbed by a man toting a “large pump action shotgun.”
The suspect was wearing a grey hooded jacket, white T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes and a black ski mask. He was about 5-feet 10-inches tall with a medium to heavy build. A white suspect vehicle was seen in the parking lot as the robber approached the store.
At about 9:45 p.m. Platte Liquor, 2318 E. Platte Ave., was robbed by a man armed with a shotgun.
The robber was described as a man in his 20s, about 6-feet tall with a moustache and a thin build. He was wearing a grey or white sweatshirt.
He fled in a silver, older-model Honda hatchback.
No shots were fired and no one was injured in any of the robberies.
Police, including officers with tracking dogs, searched the areas after the robberies but were not able to find any suspects.
