United Airlines has issued a travel waiver for Denver for Saturday flights due to predicted high winds. Anyone who purchased tickets before today for travel on Saturday may change their flights without a fee.
The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a high-wind warning that is in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST Saturday.
Northwest winds of 26-29 mph will increase in the morning to 35-38 mph and continue through the day. Winds could gusts as high as 65 mph.
“No flights have been canceled,” United spokeswoman Mary Ryan said today. “We wanted to be proactive.”
Other airlines have not announced similar plans.
People travelling Saturday through Denver International Airport should check their flight status with their airline.
