An injured motorist spent about 12 hours on a bank of the frozen Eagle River on Saturday after his SUV crashed.
The Colorado State Patrol said 29-year-old Daryl Rudolph suffered a broken right leg when his Ford Explorer crashed early Saturday and then rolled onto the frozen Eagle River between Eagle and Wolcott on U.S. 6.
Rudolph, from Littleton, crawled to safety on the riverbank, but he waited there for about 12 hours before a passer-by spotted him around 2 p.m.
Rudolph was hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening.
