Loveland police are investigating how a 25-year-old man fell out of a moving vehicle early New Year’s Day.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the 3700 block of North Wilson Avenue, according to a news release from the Loveland Police Department.

Officers learned that Tyler Pike was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Krystal Grubba. Pike exited the vehicle as it was moving.

It does not appear that Pike was hit by the vehicle, but he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Grubba was questioned about the accident and later released.

Charges in the case have not been determined. Toxicology reports and other evidence are pending.

Grubba and Pike are both from Fort Collins.
