While a treacherous global economy and a slow national recovery offer little to cheer about, Loveland’s bright employment outlook stands in contrast, city councilors heard Tuesday night.
November unemployment figures, the most recent available, show Loveland doing better than nearly every Colorado city or county — and its jobless rate nearly three percentage points lower than the nation’s.
“The good things that are happening in Loveland are things we need to appreciate,” city fiscal adviser Alan Krcmarik told councilors at an abbreviated post-holiday meeting.
Loveland, having gained 1,165 jobs since November 2010, posted an unemployment rate of 5.4 percent in November, the lowest in Northern Colorado.
