A New Year’s Eve celebration turned brawl at the DTC Marriott netted its first formal charge today.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey charged 24-year-old Shawn Forbes with a class 4 felony for injuries inflicted on a fellow hotel patron.
Forbes allegedly punched another man in the face in one of the hotel hallways in a fray that began after a key malfunction left hundreds locked out of their rooms early on New Year’s Day.
The victim, identified by 9News as 31-year-old Matthew Bowers, suffered a head injury after he hit the floor.
Forbes is in the Denver Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. He will formally be advised of his charges Friday morning.
