DENVER—The National Western Stock Show has ended after raising a record amount for the junior livestock auction.
Records fell at the junior auction, where nearly 100 animals were sold for a record $611,000. That is about a $20,000 increase over the previous record.
The money helps provide a college education for youths who raise the animals.
Stock show officials said Monday the 16-day event ended with total attendance of more than 606,000. That rates it among the Top 10 for the number of visitors.
