Colorado Preservation Inc. selected six sites for Colorado’s most-endangered-places list Thursday out of more than 30 sites nominated. Among the threats to the historic sites are demolition, neglect, natural forces, land-value fluctuations and unsympathetic owners, according to the organization.
This year’s selections are: Sullivan Gateway in Denver; Moffat Road/Hill Route in Boulder, Grand and Gilpin counties; Central Platoon School in Brush; Crossan’s Market in Yampa; the Historic Eastside Neighborhood in Pueblo; and Lizzy Knight’s Cabin in Dolores County. Colorado Preservation has produced the annual endangered places list since 1997 and announces it at its annual Saving Places Conference.
