If ever Colorado State University needed an excuse to light up the sky it was this: Its first comprehensive fundraising drive, the Campaign for Colorado State, met its $500 million goal six months ahead of schedule. So as a grand finale to the annual 1870 Club Dinner, a fireworks display was detonated for the enjoyment of the 700-plus donors, administrators, faculty, trustees and alumni who attended the black-tie event held in the CSU Student Recreational Center.
