A section of I-70 in the mountains was closed this morning so work crews could perform avalanche mitigation.
Eastbound lanes of the highway over Vail Pass were closed at about 9:30 a.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The lanes were open again for traffic about an hour later.
It snowed on Vail Pass overnight and snow continued this morning. Some areas of the pass could see up to four inches of new snow today, according to the National Weather Service.
