OKLAHOMA CITY—Military officials say an Oklahoma soldier has died in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense announced Wednesday that Sgt. Allen R. McKenna Jr. of Noble died Tuesday in Kandahar province. The 28-year-old McKenna was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division out of Fort Carson, Colo.
Defense Department officials didn’t say whether McKenna’s death was related to combat or occurred during a non-combat situation. A telephone number for the 4th Infantry Division public affairs office in Colorado Springs rang unanswered Wednesday afternoon.
