LONGMONT – — A strong sales weekend helped Phil Bratty feel a little better about the downtown Alleyscape project.
The first few days of the first week of Alleyscape construction, which began March 5 in the 400 block east of Main Street, had the owner of The Simply Bulk Market concerned.
“I had some sleepless nights,” said Bratty, who owns the market at 418 Main St. with his wife, Georgia. “I was like, ‘Two months?”
The week’s sales finished down about 20 percent compared with a typical week at this time of year, he said. Because of that, he’s hoping it’s a pretty quick two months and that construction stays on or ahead of schedule.
