DENVER—A former substitute teacher accused of making a bomb threat at an elementary school has been sentenced to four years of mental health probation, with terms requiring her to serve 180 days of in-home detention.

Forty-two-year-old Jennifer Gomes pleaded guilty earlier to false reporting of explosives and was sentenced Thursday.

She was arrested after a note was found Oct. 17 outside the private school Escuela de Guadalupe that said, “There is a bomb inside.”

Authorities alleged Gomes had left the note because she didn’t want to be at school that day.
