A two-car crash in Lakewood has shut down Wadsworth Boulevard at West 23rd Avenue and people have been injured.

The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. at the intersection, said Steve Davis, a Lakewood Police Department spokesman.

Two people were trapped in one of the vehicles and a fire started under the hood of the vehicle they were trapped in, Davis said.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to put the fire out.

Further details on injuries were not immediately available.
