Denver police arrested two men today, after one of them allegedly presented a false note to a bank teller claiming he had been carjacked and needed $400.

Around 10:30 a.m., a man allegedly walked into the First Bank, located near Colfax Avenue and Franklin Street, and handed the teller the note, said Sonny Jackson, a spokesman for the Denver Police Department.

A man was also seen sitting in a vehicle outside of the bank.

Officers were called to the bank, where they took both men into custody, Jackson said.

The case will be presented to the Denver District Attorney’s office to determine whether charges will be filed.

The suspects’ names were not released.
