DENVER—A half-dozen wildfires have erupted amid dry, windy weather in Colorado, and one has prompted an unknown number of evacuations after spreading to at least 100 acres.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or structures burned at any of the wildfires on Monday.

Authorities say the 100-acre fire is in the mountains west of Denver.

Others were reported in the central and northern Colorado mountains and in northeast Colorado. Billows of smoke are visible to the southwest from downtown Denver.

One was burning on Lookout Mountain west of Denver, where homes dot the forest along a steep, winding road with spectacular views.

The Colorado Department of Emergency Management says small grass fires area burning in Morgan, Logan and Weld counties in northeast Colorado, but it isn’t clear how many.
