EL JEBEL, Colo.—The U.S. Forest Service has decided not to sell land along the Roaring Fork River because of the discovery of a rare, threatened plant.

However, the federal agency is refusing to identify the plant because it doesn’t want to draw attention to the property near El Jebel.

The Forest Service wanted to sell the land to help raise funds to build a new office and visitor center in Aspen.

According to the Aspen Times ( ), a map indicated it wasn’t common in the Roaring Fork Valley.
