COLUMBIA, S.C. — Frank Martin has agreed to become South Carolina’s coach.

Martin will replace Darrin Horn, who was fired two weeks ago after going 60-63 over four seasons. The Gamecocks finished last in the Southeastern Conference.

Martin is leaving Kansas State, which he led to the NCAA Tournament four of the last five seasons. His overall record as a head coach is 117-54 and he is 6-4 in NCAA Tournament games.

Rivers entering NBA draft

DURHAM, N.C. — Austin Rivers is leaving Duke after one season for the NBA draft.

The freshman guard, son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, averaged a team-leading 15.5 points and was a unanimous selection as the Atlantic Coast Conference’s rookie of the year. He’s just the third Duke freshman to lead the team in scoring, following Johnny Dawkins in 1983 and Bill Sapp in 1945.

Robinson ..: It’s unanimous. A day after leading Kansas to the Final Four, forward Thomas Robinson was named to The Associated Press All-America team, becoming the first unanimous selection since Blake Griffin did it with Oklahoma in 2009.

Joining Robinson on the first team: Jared Sullinger of Ohio State (the first repeat All-American in three years), freshman Anthony Davis of Kentucky, Draymond Green of Michigan State and Doug McDermott of Creighton.

• Robinson, Davis, Green, McDermott and Sullinger also were selected to the John R. Wooden Award All-America team.

The others: Isaiah Canaan of Murray State, Jae Crowder of Marquette, Marcus Denmon of Missouri, Kevin Jones of West Virginia and Tyler Zeller of North Carolina.

All 10 members of the team have maintained at least a cumulative 2.0 grade-point average and are making progress toward graduation, two components of the award that were insisted upon by the late UCLA coach, whose name is on the award.

Footnotes. Murray State and coach Steve Prohm agreed to a one-year contract extension through the 2015-16 season and a pay raise from $195,000 to $270,000 after the Racers completed the Ohio Valley Conference school’s most successful season (31-2).

• Coach Bruiser Flint, who led Drexel to a school-record 29 wins this season, agreed to a multiyear extension.

• Mississippi State junior forward Renardo Sidney, who averaged 11.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game over two seasons with the Bulldogs, signed with an agent and will declare for the NBA draft.

• Texas guard Myck Kabongo said he will not enter the NBA draft so he can return for his sophomore season with the Longhorns.
