EAGLE, Colo.—A man convicted of fatally shooting one person and wounding three others at a West Vail bar has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 80 years.
The Vail Daily reports () Richard “Rossi” Moreau said at his sentencing hearing Wednesday that he could apologize, but it wouldn’t change what happened to the victims. Instead he spoke about his disgust with his government, the Veterans Administration and the justice system.
He also said he doesn’t remember what happened the night of the shootings in November 2009. His attorneys have said he suffered post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from his time in the war in Vietnam.
The shootings killed Gary Kitching of Carbondale. The wounded included James Lindley, who spent nearly two weeks in a coma.
