SILVER CITY, N.M.—New Mexico State Police continue air and ground searches in the Gila National Forest for a Colorado man missing after a run.
Authorities say 60-year-old Micah True was staying at the Gila Wilderness Lodge when he went for a 12-mile run on Tuesday morning and didn’t return.
The Boulder resident is an ultrarunner featured in the bestselling book “Born to Run.”
Police say about 18 people on foot and horseback were involved in the search along with three aircraft.
The Silver City Sun-News says searchers are concerned because it still gets quite cold at night in the mountains. The National Weather Service says nighttime temperatures have been in the mid-20s since Tuesday night.
True was last seen wearing running shorts, a T-shirt and running shoes and carrying a water bottle.
