Best new models you’ve seen this year; and a very scenic Parker community, as D.R. Horton grand-opens at Pine Bluffs

Getting your player ready...

In a season when buyers are suddenly way more confident about moving up, you can tour a grand opening today of two new, mid-priced model homes that are easily the best designs I’ve toured all year — one a family 2-story, one a big ranch. And they’re in a master-planned Parker community that offers a good tradeoff between Douglas County scenery and commuter accessibility.

D.R. Horton’s grand opening at Pine Bluffs, east of Parker Road at Hess, is today – but two buyers including one Realtor already took contracts on these over the past week. “Realtors think they’re great,” says Carla Lunka, who with Paula Courtney entertained agents at a reception last week (they’ll have refreshments out for you today, too).

The real treat are the models – blends of Craftsman styling with contemporary uses of space – many with a standard guest suite on the main (Lunka says buyers really like that). Taking advantage of the piney terrain at Pine Bluffs — some masterful views and walk-out lots — D.R. Horton will offer to finish the standard- full-sized basement now. You’ll see how much value that adds in the ‘Ponderosa’ 2-story that’s first on the tour — standard FIVE bedrooms, PLUS a study and sharp-looking “Command Center” computer nook; that can go to seven bedrooms using basement finish. The base price: $393,950.

Your kids will want to see what Lunka and Courtney are calling the ‘Princess’ bedroom – a built-in sleep-over bed, and an L-shaped homework desk that can be put to good use at three nearby, top-rated schools — Legend High – 9-for-10 stars at GreatSchools.org – and Iron Horse Elementary and Cimarron Middle, both 8-for-10 stars.

Some include a 3-car garage. D.R. Horton’s Emerald Kitchen is provided – GE stainless with 36-inch 5-burner gas cooktop with dual-blower hood and pot-filler; side-by-side fridge; double oven; microwave; granite-tile tops with backsplash; maple cabs with bump-ups, under-cabinet lighting, over a hardwood floor. You’ll get front landscape and a certificate, as well, for up to 2,000 square feet of rear-yard sod with irrigation.

You’ll also tour a ‘Walden’ ranch — stunning great room/kitchen area. If you like what you see, D.R. Horton has quick delivery homes of BOTH models nearby; and puts $10,000 toward financing with preferred lenders. Take Parker Road south past Parker’s Mainstreet, another two miles to Hess, then east to Hilltop, turn left and left again. Or, as an alternate, you can explore new commuter routes Parker has opened between Hess and I-25, via RidgeGate or Castle Pines Parkways.
