ROGGEN — A 28-year-old Commerce City man died at the Roggen elevator on Tuesday, the Weld County Coroner’s Office reported today.

The victim is Andres Ramirez, said coroner’s office investigator Chris Robillard. An autopsy on Wednesday morning revealed he died of multiple injuries.

Robillard said the man was operating a tractor near a while plastic cover that is used to store corn silage. Once the silage is gone, they roll up the plastic to reuse it, and a spool system on the back of a tractor is used to roll up the plastic.

“The victim was starting a roll of plastic onto the spool, and his arm apparently got caught in the spool, and it pulled him into the spool,” Robillard said.
