Despite a series of delays, Cherry Creek commuters, cyclists and pedestrians will have one less construction headache as summer starts.
The improvements to the 1st Avenue bridge over Cherry Creek at Downing Street are projected to be completed in late May, according to Chris Hernandez, marketing information coordinator for the project.
The work on the bridge, which began Sept. 15 last year, was initially planned for completion by March. According to Denver Public Works, additional repairs discovered during the removal and replacement of the bridge’s concrete barrier and expansion joints pushed the estimated completion date to June.
