A man who was rescued from an overturned SUV in Cherry Creek is a well-known Denver attorney.

Gary Lozow, 68, was injured Sunday morning when , according to a Denver Police Department traffic report.

Two pedestrians and two security guards, who work for nearby Denver Health Medical Center, went into the cold water to help before first responders arrived. The four good Samaritans then helped firefighters pull Lozow to safety.

The driver of the Honda Civic, which hit Lozow’s Acura, is identified in the report as Laura Bloom, 32, of Denver.

Bloom was cited for careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.

Lozow is a long-time Denver-area attorney who has been involved in several high-profile cases including . More recently he represented .

Lozow was taken to Denver Health Medical Center. Details on his injuries were not available.
