More dates of the long awaited reunion tour have been released, and the band will visit 20 North American cities early next year and play a number of international shows near the end of 2013.

Unfortunately, the band will not be playing in Denver, the city where frontman Jeff Mangum created much of Neutral Milk Hotel’s two albums. The closest Mangum, Scott Spillane, Julian Koster and Jeremy Barnes will get is Kansas City on Feb. 13.

This extensive tour adds to the few dates the band announced in late April — its first live shows since going on hiatus after the release of 1998’s “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.”

Mangum performed at the on his solo tour.

From our 2012 review:

“Even though each tour date the reclusive and — until recently — non-touring musician is catnip for a ravenous bunch, this show was rarefied and something of a homecoming.”
