Ryan’s French Toast

I usually love to make my mom “my” famous French toast, although the recipe belongs to Paula Deen. I love cooking it for my whole family but especially mom. The French toast is delicious and simple. Berries are delicious on top (Mom’s favorite). Makes 2 pieces. Ryan Lane, sixth grade, Granby

Ingredients

1 egg

teaspoon cinnamon

3 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon milk

2 slices of bread, white or whole-wheat

2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Whisk together egg, cinnamon, sugar and milk. Put the bread in the egg and flip it so that both sides get good and soggy. Melt the butter in a skillet and put the piece of soggy bread on top of the butter. Let the toast cook for about 1 minute, then flip it and cook for another minute. Serve with butter, syrup, jelly or peanut butter.
