The federal Bureau of Land Management Colorado office reported today that it sold 30 parcels totaling 28,371 acres for $4.8 million at its quarterly oil and gas lease sale.
The highest price per acre was $600 for a 1,917-acre parcel in Moffat County sold to Context Energy Co., in Denver, the agency said.
Colorado will receive 49 percent of the sale money, with the rest going to the U.S. government.
BLM Colorado currently has approximately 4.4 million acres of public mineral estate leased for oil and natural gas development.
