A 19-year-old Denver man was arrested and charged in Jefferson County after he allegedly stole and killed $800 worth of hamsters.
William Joseph Riddick was charged with animal cruelty and theft after he allegedly stole and killed the hamsters from a Westminster PetsMart.
Riddick was employed at the PetsMart, located at 10460 Town Center Drive. He was arrested on May 4.
Riddick appeared in court on May 5 during which the judge granted him an unsupervised $200 cash bond.
His next court appearance is at 10 a.m. on May 11, in courtroom 1B at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
