BAGGS, Wyo.—The Bureau of Land Management is accepting public comments about a proposed uranium exploration project in south central Wyoming near the Colorado border.

The BLM announced Friday it would hold a 30-day comment period for the Juniper Ridge project.

A Vancouver, British Columbia-based company, 448018 Exploration Inc., wants to explore for uranium on 8,320 acres of public land. Under the proposal, nearly 500 mud rotary drilling sites would be developed along with newly constructed roads.

Depending on the comments submitted, the BLM would draft environmental assessments to determine if the project can move forward.

Written comments will be accepted until June 8. The site would be located about seven miles west of Baggs, Wyo.
