COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a former Colorado Springs bookkeeper who pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $500,000 from a welding supply store helped drive the family-run business into bankruptcy.

Christina Bratcher faces up to 12 years in prison after she pleaded guilty Thursday to felony theft and forgery.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette ( ), Bratcher was accused of embezzling the money while serving as an accountant at Colorado Welding Supply, a mother-and-son operated business that was later forced out of business.
