Emergency crews pulled two women out of their mangled vehicle after their car plunged down a 30-foot cliff near Evergreen Wednesday night.
Around 10:43 p.m., firefighters were called to the 100 block of Aspen Drive after receiving reports that a car had veered off the roadway, said Doug Saba, spokesman for the Evergreen Fire Department.
When crews arrived they found a car that had veered off the road and fell about 30 feet before landing on its roof. The two women inside the car were conscious and talking when crews arrived, Saba said.
Emergency crews rigged ropes and repelled down the side of the cliff to the women, whose names have not been released.
Crews had to cut the women — who were still wearing their seat belts — out of the car. It took crews about 30 minutes to pull the women from the car.
It appears that the car was not traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the road.
Both women were treated for their injuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening.
